After winning the inaugural edition of The 6ixty, Barbados Royals Women are set to begin their campaign in the first-ever season of the Women's Caribbean Premier League. Apart from the Royals, the tournament will feature two other teams - Guyana Amazon Warriors led by Stafanie Taylor and Trinbago Knight Riders captained by Deandra Dottin.
Hayley Matthews will continue to lead the Royals side, as they take on the Knight Riders in the opening fixture on August 31. Each team will face the other once, with the top two teams qualifying for the final that will be played on September 4.

All matches will be played at the familiar Warner Park in St Kitts, which was also the venue for the 6ixty games. A total of 16 Women's T20Is have been played here since 2009, with the last match being played in 2012. The Royals enjoy a slight lead over their opponent, having beaten them twice in the last three games they faced off in The 6ixty, including the final. They will be looking to capitalise on the momentum, and start their season on a winning note. Both teams will have an equal advantage as far as the conditions go.

Chloe Tryon - The talented South African all-rounder finished as the leading run-getter in The 6ixty, with 114 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 162.85. She was also the only batter to register a half-century in the tournament, had the highest individual score (63) among all batters and scored the most boundaries (15). Her all-round skills will be critical to the team's success going into the tournament.
