The Royals will be playing at this venue for the second consecutive day, which may prove advantageous from an acclimatisation perspective. They're also in red-hot form, having dominated their opponents in every game so far. Against Saint Lucia Kings, they have a superior record, winning 11 of their 18 matches in the CPL. In 2021, both teams drew level with one victory each.
At this ground, St Lucia Kings have won 11 of their 30 T20 matches, while the Royals have a better win percentage, winning 5 of their 7 games.
Team News
There were four changes in the Royals' line-up going into the previous encounter, with Oshane Thomas, Devon Thomas, Justin Greaves and Hayden Walsh coming into the Playing XI. The changes paid rich dividends, as Oshane and Devon teamed up with the ball to derail Trinbago Knight Riders' chase quite early in the innings. With the winning momentum on their side, it remains to be seen whether the management decides to make any further changes. No other official updates have been reported from the camp for now.
Royal to watch
Quinton de Kock - The Protea southpaw's promotion at the top worked wonders for the Royals in their last match, helping them get off to a brilliant start with an 85-run opening stand. His 34-ball 44 included six fours, despite him playing second fiddle to Kyle Mayers. Quinton missed out on a maiden CPL fifty by just 6 runs, so he'll be itching to go in the next one. His partnership with Mayers at the top will once again be crucial to building a solid foundation for the team in the Powerplay.
